The Interventional Radiology Department at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Registered Nurse. The RN:

  • Assess the condition of the patient receiving Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) services via nursing process through identification of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, communicating the plan of care, implementing appropriate nursing interventions and documenting and evaluating patient outcomes.

  • Serve as a liaison and educational resource for Imaging/IR Services.

  • Serve as a resource person to other members of the Radiology health care team.

  • The role of the registered nurse within Imaging/IR services is multifaceted including, but not limited to delivery of nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and nursing care of patients in the IR Clinic.

  • Administration of chemo as related to IR procedures, participation in On Call rotations and Charge role as determined by role and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:                                                                                                         

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred.  RNs hired with an Associates (ASN) degree have 2 years to complete the BSN degree.

Certification and Licensing:

  • Valid Florida Registered Nurse License, BLS, ACLS certification required. PALS preferred but must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Experience:

  • Three years of experience is required. One year of relevant nursing experience required, preferably with PACU, ICU or Emergency Department clinical experience.
