Pharmacy Technician 1

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician 1 to work in Miami. The Pharmacist Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs. Core job functions include collecting, inputting, and verifying prescription, refill, and patient information and maintaining patient records; assisting pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals; receiving and stocking incoming medical supplies and drugs; referring providers’ calls and medical questions to Pharmacist; participating in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties; staying abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations; adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent. Certification and licensing require State of FL registration as a Pharmacy Technician. No experience required (New Grad/Entry). Skills needed include data entry with minimal errors, ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence, effective communication skills, problem recognition and solving abilities, and discretion in handling confidential information.
