The Department of Urology is currently seeking a full-time Surgery Scheduler 2, to work on-site in North Miami at UHealth SoLe Mia. The Surgery Scheduler 2 (H) acts as liaison between patients, professional staff, and physicians by scheduling and coordinating all necessary functions for surgical and diagnostic procedures. Further, the Surgery Scheduler 2 (H) acts as source of knowledge for scheduling staff and oversees their functions to ensure accurately and timely scheduling practices.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Â
1.Obtains pre-authorizations for procedures as required by insurance companies.Â
2.Oversees, produces, and distributes all surgical and procedural schedules to physicians and departments.Â
3.Collaborates with patients, families, staff, and providers within the office and the greater community to schedule surgeries, pre-op physicals, and testing.Â
4.Coordinates with hospitals and vendors for special cases or circumstances.Â
5.Identifies ways to streamline surgical scheduling process and provides suggestions to managing staff.Â
6.Ensures that electronic systems and scheduling tools are up-to-date and operating smoothly, andimmediately contacts appropriate personnel to resolve any issues.Â
7.Ensures documentation is complete to support accurate billing of surgical procedures.Â
8.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.Â

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience Â

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.Â

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.Â
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.Â
Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).Â

1.Ensures Accuracy and expeditious booking of all surgical cases.
2.Has the ability to multitask and work with multiple providers and service lines within urology .
3.Has some knowledge of surgical coding and insurances.
4.Has proven ability to work on a team and provide coverage for colleagues wherever needed.
