The department of Psychiatry, division of Media and Innovation Lab, has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Supervisor, Research Laboratory to work onsite on the UHealth campus. The Supervisor, Research Laboratory oversees clinical data and complex research protocols and coordinates clinic and research activities. Further, the incumbent takes initiative in the design, implementation, and coordination of research studies.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Keeps all laboratory equipment in good working order and makes minor repairs.

  • Oversees and collaborates in the development of study tools.

  • Evaluates the availability of resources for research studies and the impact of studies on resources.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains standard operating procedures.

  • Reviews numerous laboratory results and enters abnormal results into database.

  • Coordinates trainings and monitors performance of procedures.

  • Assists in the determination of fiscal requirements and in the preparation of budgetary recommendations.

  • Prepares reports setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations.

  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles.

  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
