Overview
The聽Information Security Specialist聽provides comprehensive information security and information assurance support to ensure the protection, processing, sharing, and disposition of sensitive and classified information. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of mission-critical systems in strict accordance with聽DoD Manual 5205.07,聽ICD 705, and related federal regulatory requirements. Acting as a technical and administrative pivot point, the Specialist manages full-spectrum security operations, including聽Personnel Security (PERSEC)聽clearance processing, daily inspections of secure facilities, and the oversight of聽Enterprise Physical Access Control Systems (ePACS). The ideal candidate possesses the technical proficiency to manage secure network environments (SIPR/NIPR/JWICS) and the analytical rigor to track compliance across complex, multi-domain programs.

Service provided on-site at USSOUTHCOM Headquarters 9301 NW 33rd Street Doral, FL 33172. Working hours are conducted between the hours of 6am - 6pm. Any Hours outside the normal schedule require prior approval from Montech and Government.

Summary of Responsibilities聽
The聽Information Security Specialist聽shall have a minimum of five years of experience and provides comprehensive information security and assurance support to safeguard sensitive and classified data in accordance with聽DoD Manual 5205.07,聽ICD 705, and federal regulatory requirements. This role ensures the secure handling, processing, and destruction of materials across聽NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS environments while maintaining compliance with enterprise architecture frameworks. Key duties include:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Policy & Compliance: Developing and implementing security procedures aligned with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and DoD standards to ensure the protection of national security information.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Operational Security: Executing daily security functions, including facility inspections, personnel access control (ePACS/Lenel), and foreign partner (FNP) information-sharing coordination.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Material Lifecycle Management: Operating approved Security Engineered Machinery (SEM) for the destruction of classified materials and facilitating systematic declassification processes.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Personnel Security (PERSEC): Administering clearance actions, fingerprinting, and in-processing for civilian, military, and contractor personnel.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 24/7 Mission Support: Providing technical troubleshooting and hardware maintenance for secure systems, including 24/7/365 coverage for mission-critical operations as required.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Courier Services: Process courier requests, preparing courier cards and travel authorization letters within 3 business days. Maintain an excel spreadsheet for accountability and reporting, submitting weekly metrics.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Security Incident Management: Process reported/suspected security incidents IAW local policy, including preliminary inquiries and maintaining incident files (electronic and hard copy). Collaborate with IT and DISA as directed by the COR to sanitize systems and printers, issue notifications, and prepare reports.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Program: Implement and maintain the CUI Program, conducting data collection and evaluating marking compliance through sampling. Document results, recommend corrective actions, and conduct preliminary inquiries as required, ensuring proper CUI marking.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Annual Agency Classification Management Report Data: Collect data quarterly, review for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies. Maintain databases/spreadsheets to document data collection and prepare reports for inclusion in the Annual Agency Classification Management Report/Data Call.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Security Education, Awareness & Training (SETA): Execute a comprehensive SETA program including newcomer orientation, annual training, refresher courses, and awareness materials (CBTs, presentations, pamphlets, newsletters). Provide monthly training completion rates.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Disintegrator Operation & Maintenance: Operate the SEM Model 23 disintegrator and perform operator level maintenance. Coordinate service, cleaning, blade replacement, and supply acquisition with COR, following the separate maintenance contract (quarterly with emergency calls as needed).
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Afterhours Security Inspections: Assist with conducting security walk-throughs and inspections to Contractor shall compliance, prevent incidents, and unauthorized disclosure. Make on-the-spot corrections and report incidents IAW local policy. Provide monthly and annual reports.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Briefing & Reporting: Prepare briefings, papers, and responses for senior leadership on security and foreign disclosure.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Security Procedure Updates: Revise and draft new security procedures recommendation for government approval.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a technical background in Information Assurance (IA) or Information Security within a highly regulated DoD or federal environment.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g., SIPR, NIPR and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS) networks), and the Information Technology (IT)/Cybersecurity rules.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Security Expertise: Proven experience with聽Enterprise Physical Access Control Systems (ePACS), Lenel, and the oversight of Secure Room hardware and protocols.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Certifications: Must meet聽DoD 8140.03聽(formerly 8570.01-M) baseline certification requirements for Information Assurance positions.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Specialized Training: Ability to operate classified material destruction equipment and manage systematic declassification actions in accordance with DoD precedents.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Clearance & Eligibility: Must maintain an active聽Top Secret (TS) with SCI access security clearance and fulfill all ongoing training and background investigation requirements.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to聽50 lbs, climb ladders, and work within technical environments (e.g., server rooms or confined spaces) to support hardware maintenance.
Security
Employment is contingent upon the ability to pass the pre-employment drug test. This role requires a聽Top Secret (TS) with SCI access security clearance and the ability to maintain聽DoD 8140.03聽(formerly 8570.01-M) Information Assurance certification standards. Personnel performing work in support of this contract, shall have been granted a Top Secret with SCI access personnel security clearance from the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office.
