Sr. Research Analyst

***HYBRID Option Available*** (Will be required to report on-site and train on-site)

The University of Miami/UHealth Division Neuromuscular Program in the Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time or Part-time statistical programmer to join an active clinical and translational research group focused on therapy development for Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS) in Miami, FL.

Core Job Summary

The statistical programmer will be an integral member of the research team and provide programming support for the cleaning, summarizing/reporting, and analysis of research data. The statistical programmer will work most closely with the biostatistician and data managers.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for real-time data QC

  • Conduct routine data checks to ensure data integrity and completeness

  • Write SAS macros and programs for data cleaning, reporting (e.g. tables, listings, figures), and the creation of analysis datasets

  • Assist in the design and implementation of procedures (e.g. via programming, restructuring of data files, expansion of database components) to improve efficiency and support growth of the research program

  • Perform statistical analyses defined in statistical analysis plans, as needed

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a closely related analytical field

  • Experience in SAS programming

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail

  • Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL) desired

  • Knowledge of SQL desired
