Superintendent – Office Fit-Outs / Commercial Interiors

Location: Northern Indiana

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee office fit-out and interior construction projects within a large-scale mission-critical data center development in Northern Indiana. This role will be responsible for managing all field operations related to interior construction, ensuring high-quality delivery of workplace and office environments on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial interiors, tenant improvements, or workplace construction and the ability to lead subcontractors and field teams in fast-paced, multi-trade environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for office fit-out and interior construction projects
  • Coordinate all interior trades including drywall, framing, ceilings, flooring, millwork, glazing, paint, and finishes
  • Manage subcontractors, foremen, and field crews to ensure productivity and schedule adherence
  • Oversee sequencing and coordination of interior build-outs within active construction environments
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Conduct daily site coordination meetings, safety briefings, and progress reviews
  • Work closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and client representatives
  • Coordinate material deliveries, site logistics, and installation sequencing
  • Track progress and assist in maintaining project schedules and milestones
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards across all interior work areas
  • Support punch list completion, commissioning coordination, and final turnover activities
  • Resolve field issues quickly and maintain strong communication across all trades

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on interior fit-outs or tenant improvements
  • Strong experience delivering office, workplace, corporate, or similar interior environments
  • Experience working within large-scale, multi-phase construction programs preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior construction drawings
  • Strong understanding of interior construction sequencing and trade coordination
  • Experience managing subcontractors and field teams in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • Experience working in data center, industrial, or mission-critical environments is a plus

Preferred Backgrounds

Candidates may come from commercial general contractors, interiors specialists, or design-build firms delivering workplace and tenant improvement projects.

Experience supporting large-scale campus developments or mission-critical construction environments is highly desirable.
