Join Hygea Healthcare at our state-of-the-art facility in Middle River, MD.   We are looking for energetic nurses who want to be part of an innovative, technology-driven program.  Our nursing team works 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7 PM and 7 PM - 7 AM), and requires a weekend rotation.  

The compensation range is $33- $ 38 per hour.

 

Job Summary

As an LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform a wide range of duties during your shift, including providing compassionate care and educating patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
  • Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
  • Make nursing diagnoses of patients' medical status and recommend treatment options.
  • Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.
  • Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
  • Take vitals 
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward residents, staff, and volunteers. 
  • Handle crises in a calm, supportive manner 
  • Complete drug screening 
  • Coordinate refills and new prescriptions with the staff physician 
  • Inventory medications weekly (medication count) 
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal, and HIPAA rules and regulations. 
  • Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required 
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
  • Documents patient care services by charting in client and department records.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem solving methods.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Current LPN License in the state of operations.
  • High School Diploma and Licensed Practical Nurse diploma required.
  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
