GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accountant III/Fiscal Coordinator is responsible for: accounting system (Mosaic) encumbering, processing of grant/vendor payments and interfacing with awardees/ vendors, when necessary, verification of employee reimbursements, administration and fiscal support to State 911 Department grant programs, grant administration and processing and assisting the Fiscal Director with other administrative and fiscal matters as they arise.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Manages encumbrance and payment activity for Departmental units in the state鈥檚 accounting system (Mosaic),

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Confers with agency personnel and vendors by telephone, in writing or in person, to resolve accounting discrepancies and/or obtain statistical data and documentation to support invoices, reports and/or projects.

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Reconciles financial documents, records, transactions and statements to ensure conformance with established standards, contracts and grant guidelines.

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Reviews agency accounting procedure to ensure conformance with established reporting requirements, etc., and for accuracy, updating, and correction, and for recommended changes or improvements in agency accounting procedures or operation.

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Supports procurement of goods and/or services for the Department and the聽 聽facility and implements accounting procedures governing payment and related financial transactions.

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Performs related duties which may include attending staff meetings and training sessions; responding to inquiries regarding assigned agency functions; reviewing and/or approving invoices/reimbursements for payment; and conferring with others concerning accounting-related matters.

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Supports accounts receivable functions, to include but not limited to, recording of surcharge revenue received.

聽聽聽聽聽 聽Other tasks may be assigned.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:聽 Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in accounting or auditing, of which at least (B) one year must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.聽

Substitutions:聽

I.聽 An Associate's degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*聽

II.聽 A Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*聽

III.聽 A Graduate degree with a major in accounting, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.*聽

*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
