Maintenance Technician-Injection

The Beverage Maintenance Technician supports Niagara Bottling production by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-speed beverage manufacturing equipment, packaging systems, plant utilities, and sanitation/CIP-related systems to maximize safety, food quality, reliability, OEE, and uptime.

Essential Functions 

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed beverage production equipment including blow molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, and related automation. 

• Respond quickly to line breakdowns, support startups, SKU changeovers, mechanical setups, and equipment adjustments to reduce downtime, waste, and repeat failures. 

• Complete preventive, predictive, corrective, and reliability-focused maintenance on production equipment, packaging equipment, and beverage process support systemsin accordance with Niagara standards and OEM guidance. 

• Maintain and troubleshoot plant utility and support systems such as air compressors, chillers, reverse osmosis/water filtration, pumps, valves, piping, and related facility equipment. 

• Support beverage sanitation and food safety requirements by assisting with Clean-In-Place (CIP), equipment cleaning, allergen/contamination prevention where applicable, and sanitary equipment condition. 

• Partner with operations and quality teams to support line checks, fill-level performance, cap torque, label alignment, package integrity, coding/traceability, and defect reduction. 

• Document work orders, downtime details, parts usage, follow-up needs, and shift handoff information accurately in the maintenance system. 

• Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, GMP, food safety, quality, sanitation, environmental, housekeeping, and plant operating requirements. 

• Communicate clearly with operators, production leadership, maintenance teammates, and leadership to support safe and reliable operations.

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 4 years of industrial, food/beverage, bottling, packaging, or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred; equivalent technical training, military experience, apprenticeship, or education may be considered. 

• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, PLC/HMI, sensors, VFDs, servo systems, utility, and automated beverage production equipment. 

• Familiarity with fillers, cappers, blow molders, labelers, conveyors, case packers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, CIP systems, and beverage plant utilities is strongly preferred. 

• Working knowledge of schematics, diagnostic tools, maintenance shop equipment, precision measuring tools, sanitation requirements, CMMS/work order systems, and basic computer applications. 

• Strong communication, prioritization, safety awareness, and independent decision-making skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 6 years of high-speed beverage, bottling, packaging, plastics, aseptic, automation, utility systems, or advanced equipment troubleshooting experience preferred.

Education 

Minimum Required:   

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical technology, automation, food/beverage manufacturing, or related field preferred. 

 

Certification/License:  

• Required: N/A 

• Preferred: Technical, electrical, mechanical, welding, automation, PLC, food safety/GMP, forklift, or OEM equipment certifications. 

 

Foreign Language  

• Required: None. 

• Preferred: Bilingual communication skills helpful in a diverse manufacturing environment.
