We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team and help us deliver exceptional patient care. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will support our providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced primary care setting. The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, and dedicated to creating a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation. Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures. Administer injections, vaccines, and perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing as appropriate. Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals. Process prescription refill requests and communicate with pharmacies. Answer patient phone calls and portal messages professionally. Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards are followed. Assist with prior authorizations and other administrative tasks as needed. Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or equivalent). Previous experience in a primary care or family medicine practice preferred. Current BLS/CPR certification preferred. Experience with EMR systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices. QualificationsQualifications: Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting. Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty department; e.g., pediatric medical assistant exam. Experience: Minimum five (5) years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience. Other Requirements: Current documentation of medical assistant certification required. Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis). Performance Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures. Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical practice. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families. Skills: Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately. Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families. Abilities: Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image. Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks.
