Position Description:

Obtains authorization for treatment or special procedures in the Terrebonne General Specialty Clinics. Supports various activities in Specialty Clinics by assisting facilitate a clean, compliant billing process, research and work through denials regarding no authorization, and by utilizing procedures and sound judgment. The Authorization Specialist ensures payment for services by verifying benefits with insurance providers. The individual will also review and input insurance authorization and referrals into the EMR prior to patient services.

Qualifications:
1. 2-3 years of experience in medical office authorization preferred.
2. Knowledge of ICD and CPT codes preferred.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
4. Computer experience preferred.
