Role Overview
- The Project Executive provides oversight for multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.Ā This roleĀ is responsible forĀ ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, whileĀ maintainingĀ strong relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and internal teams. The Project Executive serves as a strategic leader, mentor, and business partner who drives operational excellence and supports company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership
- Oversee a portfolio of multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Provide directionĀ throughoutĀ preconstruction, construction, and project closeout.
- Ensure projects meet financial, operational, and qualityĀ objectives.
- IdentifyĀ project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Resolve complex project issues and escalate decisions whenĀ appropriate.
Financial Management
- Maintain accountability for project profitability and financial performance.
- Review project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and cash flow.
- Approve major change orders and contract modifications.
- Monitor labor productivity and financial trends across projects.
- Partner with finance and accounting on forecasting and reporting.
Client & Business Development
- Serve as the primary contact for key clients.
- Build andĀ maintainĀ long-term client relationships.
- Participate in business development, interviews, and proposal presentations.
- IdentifyĀ opportunities for repeat business and strategic partnerships.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
- Develop future leaders through coaching and performance management.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support hiring, succession planning, and talent development.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote best practices across scheduling, procurement, quality control, and project execution.
- Drive consistency in project delivery processes.
- Support implementation of technology and operational improvements.
Risk Management
- Review contracts andĀ identifyĀ commercial risks.
- Partner with legal and executive leadership on dispute resolution.
- Monitor insurance, claims, and compliance requirements.
- EnsureĀ documentation supportsĀ contractualĀ obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.Ā
- 15ā20+ years of progressive construction management experience.Ā
- Experience managing large commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use, construction projects.Ā
- Demonstrated success leading multiple project teams simultaneously.Ā
- Strong financial and contract management experience.Ā
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.Ā
