Project Description:
Seeking an FPGA/Firmware Engineer to join the Torpedo Systems Group, taking ownership of FPGA development supporting mission-critical torpedo systems. This is a full-lifecycle role, from architecture through verification, delivery, and field troubleshooting, with direct customer-facing responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive design, verification, and documentation for FPGA developments from concept to completion
- Contribute to system architecture, simulation, and detailed design decisions
- Define module interfaces and lead key aspects of device design and simulation
- Evaluate the full process flow: high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization
- Verify test results and analyze system performance
- Present requirements, designs, and results to management, engineering teams, and customers
- Help shape and improve FPGA development processes across the organization
- Apply engineering standards, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
- Support onsite installation, troubleshooting, and corrective actions for delivered products
Mandatory Skills:
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be willing to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ years
- Ability to pass a background check (criminal, credit, education, employment, drug test)
- Prior experience contributing to new theories/methods in FPGA engineering
- Expert knowledge of Software Source Control tools (Git preferred)
- Proven hardware troubleshooting experience (DMM, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators)
- Experience working in a Linux environment
- Experience writing in C and multithreaded programming
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
