Assists Director in supervising and directing nursing care and all related activities of the service.  Assures maintenance of the environment of care and all applicable standards/policies (e.g. established AMC policies, procedures and standards of care, OSHA, ODH, JCAHO, Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (ODBH) and other accrediting bodies).  Utilizes principles of the nursing process in providing care for patients.  Build and develops the patient care team using staff personnel, assistance to physicians, material and equipment, education of personnel and administrative duties.  Serves as chief retention and recruitment leader of the unit.  Accountable to the organization to understand and support the hospital’s mission, visions and values.
