Job Title: Patient Escort

Unit:  Transportation

Shift:  Variable

Facility: Atrium Medical Center

 The Patient Escort provides transport services to patients of all ages to and from all referral points within the hospital.  The Patient Escort appropriately transports medications and/or lab specimens as directed to and from various locations throughout the hospital. The Patient Escort is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive impression of Premier Health by proactively approaching, greeting, and acknowledging all customer in a friendly, professional manner and providing quick and responsive customer service.

 

The Patient Escort complies with established policies, procedures, and standards regarding quality, customer satisfaction, positive work environment, and financial stewardship.  The Patient Escort is responsible for all other duties as assigned.

 



Education:  High school graduate or GED required.

Certification:  CPR certification within 30 days from date in position.

Experience: One year of experience in medical/patient care environment strongly preferred.

Skills:

Effective verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills

Exemplary customer/employee relations

Highly motivated in teamwork, quality, and productivity

Knowledge of the various departments served

Proficient in the use of electronic medical records system and person computer

Capable of adapting to changing environment and making independent decisions to adjust priorities according to situational demand

Ability to stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift
