SUMMARY OF THE JOB: 

As the Senior Payments Product Manager – Payments Modernization, you will provide enterprise-level leadership for Liberty Bank’s payments ecosystem, spanning legacy (ACH, wires, Bill Pay) and next-generation rails including RTP, FedNowZelle and emerging API-based capabilities. You will define and own the payments product vision and roadmap, identify the organizational operating model for enterprise payments, and ensure coordinated execution across initiatives, platforms, and customer segments. This includes leadership and direction for technical/platform-level payment rail ownership as well as oversight of the team responsible for implementing Liberty’s payments hub. Using a mix of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, you will act as the owner for payments outcomes aligning business priorities, technology delivery, risk and compliance requirements, and customer experience objectives. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the enterprise SME on Liberty Bank’s payments ecosystem, including RTP, FedNow, ACH, wires, cards, Zelle, and emerging payment capabilities. 
  • Define, maintain and communicate the multi-year payments product vision and roadmap.  Communicate roadmap status and key decisions to senior leadership 
  • Establish and lead the payments team and its product management operating model, including lifecycle management for all money movement capabilities 
  • Provide leadership for technical/platform-level payment rail ownership. 
  • Partner with risk, fraud, compliance, technology, operations and vendors to drive modernization, efficiency, and compliance. 
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to fragmented ownership and regulatory gaps. 
  • Use data and feedback to inform prioritization and continuous improvement. 

 

Minimum knowledge/skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in payments product management across ACH, RTP, Zelle, P2P, Bill Pay, card and related capabilities. 
  • Proven track record designing and launching money movement platforms and products.
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise payments strategies and roadmaps. 
  • Experience advising senior leaders on payments strategy and investment. 
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, a strong understanding of the payments industry, and experience in product management 
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing product teams. 
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with risk, compliance, tech and operations. 
  • Experience with payments architecture modernization and payment hub planning is preferred. 
  • Background leading payments modernization efforts in banking or fintech is preferred. 
  • Treasury management payment experience is preferred.
