Data-Core Systems Inc. is seeking a SQL DBA Engineer  to be a part of our Consulting team. You will participate and effectively contribute to the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies. You will provide technical expertise and systems design for individual initiatives. You will have an opportunity to work with other SME consultants from our existing team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Primary SQL DBA responsible for database administration, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization for SQL Server 2022 and 2019 in VM-based environments
• Manage and support Azure SQL SaaS databases, including backup, restoration, and high availability
• Administer Azure Redis Cache, ensuring optimal caching strategies for performance and scalability
• Deploy, configure, and monitor PostgreSQL Azure Flexible Servers for diverse data workloads
• Work with Cosmos DB (Document DB, Mongo DB APIs) for distributed data storage and management
• Collaborate with SAP teams on Datasphere integration for seamless data connectivity and analytics
• Develop and manage SQL stored procedures integrated within Azure DevOps (ADO) pipelines for CI/CD automation
• Oversee ADO release management, ensuring smooth and controlled deployments across environments
• Conduct proactive performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Implement and maintain robust backup, disaster recovery, and security policies for database systems
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database best practices and compliance standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10–12 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA
• Expertise in VM-based SQL Server environments (SQL Server 2022, 2019)
• Proven experience with Azure SQL SaaS and Azure Redis Cache
• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL Azure Flexible Server
• Working knowledge of Cosmos DB (Document DB and Mongo DB APIs)
• Experience integrating or managing data within SAP Datasphere
• Strong understanding of SQL stored procedures, T-SQL, and ADO pipeline automation
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps release management processes
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification
• Experience with database migration and modernization projects
• Knowledge of PowerShell, automation scripts, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
