Welder I – IV (4 x 10-hour workdays per week)
This position is located in our brand-new Portland, CT facility
Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable!
Our welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:
- Producing welded assemblies from fabricated components per custom or stock specifications
- Welding in a variety of metals using a combination of MIG, TIG and ARC welding techniques
- Positioning and aligning fits and welds using common weld shop tooling (jigs, welding equipment and hand tools)
- Resolving problems using established procedures and common sense
- Creating solutions, procedures and policies while working with various departments
- Understanding of assigned work order/stag requirement and goals
If you have at least 1 years’ experience as a welder, possess a High School Diploma or GED and successfully completed certification to minimum of 2 WPS, we want to talk to you!
