Visiting Assistant Professor of English: Seventeenth-Century Literature

The Department of English at Wesleyan University seeks applicants for a full-time Visiting Professor with expertise in seventeenth-century British literature. This is a nine-month visiting appointment beginning September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach five seminar-sized courses to undergraduates and participate in a lively intellectual community. With a strong and diverse undergraduate student body, Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts college that values both scholarship and teaching very highly.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D in hand in English or a related field to be hired at the rank of Visiting Professor; MA in English or a related field to be hired at the rank of Visiting Instructor. College-level teaching experience is required.

Work Location: In-person on the campus of Wesleyan University
