General Summary:
Assists the baker in the preparation of all baked goods according to the club’s standard recipes.
Responsibilities and Duties:

- Primary Duties
- Opens bakery; lights ovens, if necessary; collects needed ingredients.Â
- Schedules daily production in Baker’s absence.Â
- Cleans and sanitizes work and storage areas.Â
- Prepares baked goods according to club’s standard recipes.
- Maintains and breaks down Baker’s station.Â
- Notifies baker in advance of expected product shortages.Â
- Ensures that assigned work station and equipment are clean and sanitary.Â
- Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items.Â
- Covers, dates and neatly stores all reusable leftover products.Â
- Makes recommendations for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of the bakery area and equipment.Â
- Attends staff meetings.Â
- Assists Baker in the completion of other duties as assigned.Â
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Must be able to safely operate food production equipment, including: large-capacity mixer, ice cream machine, convection oven, pizza oven, proofer, robo-coupe or other food processor, 40-gallon steam kettle and steam cabinet.
- Attention to detail, knowledge of ingredients and an aesthetic/artistic eye.
- Adheres to state and local health and safety standards.
- Maintains safety and security in work area.
- Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations
Certification/Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or GED.Â
- One year of experience as a baker in a retail, club, hotel, restaurant or institutional setting is preferred.Â
Working Condition:
- There is a potential for stressful situations and for long hours.
- Constantly works in hot, humid, and noisy environment conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.Â
- The person in this position frequently communicates with managers and colleagues regarding food orders, workstation, etc. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Frequently positions self to complete assigned tasks.
