Job Description

 

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness in the collection, charge and audit processes relevant to surgical patients and procedures. Responsible for maintaining a high degree of accountability for confidential patient and medical information. Responsible for solving practical problems, dealing with a variety of issues and interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Responsible for promoting positive interactions with co-workers, customers and guests.

 

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE 

Full Time, 7:30am-4:00pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS• Demonstrates competency in computer skills with proficiency in ORSOS and Affinity. • Demonstrates an understanding of the basic functions of ORSOS; including but not limited to item catalog, charging, making sure clinical documentation supports patient charges and report building. • Reviews surgery and anesthesia charge sheets to ensure that charge codes are correct. • Demonstrates knowledge of protocol for implementation of charge codes for new products, supplies and procedures. • Assists in the compilation of statistical data for monthly, annual, and special reports as requested by both internal and external customers. • Maintains communication with Finance and Billing Departments to ensure charge numbers are assigned for all patient chargeable items being used.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE• High School graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures is preferred.
