We also believe great teams support one another, celebrate successes, and bring positivity, perspective, and a sense of humor to the workplace. What You Can Expect at Midland College A leadership team committed to action, collaboration, and continuous improvement A Board of Trustees that values stewardship, innovation, and long-term vision A community that believes deeply in the power of education to create opportunities Meaningful work, supportive colleagues, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact, every single day If you're passionate about making a difference, excited by growth and innovation, and ready to help students succeed while strengthening the Permian Basin, we invite you to join our team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Facility Operations Assist the Chaparral Center Director with the daily operation and supervision of the Fitness Center Monitor front desk operations as needed, including facility access, customer assistance, and telephone coverage Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the Fitness Center and related equipment Manage facility reservation schedules and usage control processes Maintain appropriate records and prepare facility usage reports Personnel Management •   Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise part-time employees and student workers •   Provide ongoing guidance to staff to ensure quality customer service and safe facility operations Wellness Programming •   Create and coordinate promotional activities that encourage participation in Fitness Center programs and services •   Collaborate with the Chaparral Center Director to develop and implement employee health and wellness initiatives, including the campus recreation program known as Nooners •   Lead wellness best practices and promote a culture of health and well-being throughout the college •   Develop partnerships with ECHS, Athletics, Pre-K programs, academic departments, and Student Life to support wellness programming and facility scheduling •   Instruct wellness-related courses, workshops, and programs as assigned Compliance and Administration •   Ensure compliance with Midland College policies and procedures as well as applicable local and state regulations •   Perform other duties as assigned QualificationsRequired Qualifications •   Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution •   Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within 90 days of hire •   Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •   Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications •   Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, programs, or events Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution WORK ENVIRONMENT Typical office Business Hours M-Th 8:00 am 5:00 p.m. F 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Summer M-Th 730 a.m. – 500 pm Periodic evening and weekend hours during peak periods (e.g., open enrollment, payroll)  Occasional travel (less than 10%) Physical Requirements •   Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds •   Ability to use manual dexterity and operate standard office equipment •   Ability to perform repetitive keyboarding functions •   Physical mobility sufficient to demonstrate the proper use of a variety of fitness equipment and exercise techniques Salary Range 41,811 - 42,438 BENEFITS Midland College faculty and staff enjoy a comprehensive choice of insurance plans* and retirement savings programs.  medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans, FSA retirement savings programs tuition remission for employees generous paid time off including winter break  To learn more go to: Midland College Benefits *eligibility may vary based on job classification SECURITY SENSITIVITY All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
