General Assembly Technician

Job Summary

Reclaim Water Services is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hard-working General Assembly Technician to join our growing operations team at our Permian Basin production yard. This position plays a key role in supporting the assembly, fabrication, electrical installation, and preparation of water treatment systems used in field operations. The General Assembly Technician will work directly under the guidance of the Production Manager and collaborate with welders, electricians, and other skilled trades to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, learning new skills, and contributing to a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude along with working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and assembly practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble water treatment equipment, skids, piping, electrical components, and related systems according to drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Pull electrical wire and install conduit, conduit fittings, cable trays, and associated electrical hardware.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
  • Assist with wiring and troubleshooting electrical circuits, including equipment operating on 240V and 480V systems.
  • Install and terminate electrical components such as motors, control panels, sensors, switches, and instrumentation under the direction of the Production Manager or lead electrician.
  • Perform general yard and shop labor, including cleaning work areas, organizing tools and materials, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
  • Assist welders and electricians with setup, material handling, fabrication, and general support as required.
  • Stainless steel welding experience is a plus.
  • Structural welding experience is a plus.
  • Move, stage, and organize materials using forklifts or pallet jacks (training provided if necessary).
  • Load and unload equipment, parts, and supplies from trucks and trailers.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, part tagging, and preparing equipment for shipment to field locations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
  • Perform basic maintenance on tools and shop equipment as directed by supervision.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or industrial equipment assembly is required.
  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication, piping, and plumbing assembly.
  • Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge, including:
    • Pulling electrical wire
    • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
    • Knowledge of electrical circuitry
    • Experience working with 240V and 480V electrical systems
    • Installing conduit, conduit fittings, and associated electrical raceways
  • Experience using common electrical hand tools and testing equipment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a yard, shop, manufacturing, or oilfield environment is preferred but not required.
  • Forklift experience is a plus (certification preferred or willingness to be trained).
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs., work outdoors in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check.
