Position Overview

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support daily Human Resources operations at our Midland, Texas manufacturing facilities. This position will play a key role in employee onboarding, HR administration, recruiting coordination, community engagement activities, and employee events. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of Human Resources experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

HR Administration

  • Upload and maintain employee data for new employee setup, including contracted employees.
  • Process employee change requests, including status changes, transfers, organizational updates, and employee information updates.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure employee records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with HRIS data entry, audits, and recordkeeping.
  • Prepare employment verification letters and other routine HR correspondence.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company records.
  • Assist employees with basic HR-related questions and direct inquiries to appropriate HR personnel.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Support

  • Coordinate interview schedules between candidates, hiring managers, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Schedule conference rooms, Teams meetings, and interview panels.
  • Assist with candidate travel arrangements, including airport transportation and lodging when required.
  • Support recruiting events, job fairs, and career outreach initiatives.

Onboarding & New Hire Support

  • Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and ensure required documentation is completed.
  • Coordinate badge requests, workstation readiness, and onboarding schedules.
  • Track completion of new hire paperwork and compliance requirements.

Employee Engagement & Events

  • Assist with planning and scheduling employee luncheons, recognition events, and company celebrations.
  • Coordinate community involvement activities and volunteer events.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs.
  • Assist in communication and promotion of company events.

General HR Support

  • Assist with tracking attendance, employee acknowledgments, and required training records.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations as requested.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other administrative and HR-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of Human Resources experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding, recruiting, or HR administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR confidentiality and professional workplace practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • May be required to move materials for onboarding events or employee activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, candidates, and visitors.

Work Environment

  • Onsite position located in Midland, Texas.
  • Manufacturing and office environment.
  • Occasional travel between AST SpaceMobile facilities in Midland may be required.
