Job DetailsJob Location: Midland - Midland, TX 79707The Junior Automation Technician will assist the Field Automation Technician with the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of ADS Services equipment. This is a hands-on developmental role designed to build experience with automation, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems in both shop and field environments.   Assist Field Automation Technicians with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our equipment.  Support work involving valves, hydraulics, electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, computers, and related automation equipment. Assist with shop assembly, wiring, testing, and equipment preparation prior to field deployment. Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical wiring, instrumentation, communications networks, and control systems under supervision. Assist with field testing and implementation of new or modified equipment. Become familiar with PLC code, schematics, wire lists, one-line drawings, bills of materials, and equipment manuals. Travel to customer locations as required to support field operations. Complete required JSA, safety, industry, and customer-specific training. Follow established installation, commissioning, maintenance, and safety procedures. Maintain tools, test equipment, and assigned work areas. Work closely with Field Automation Technicians, Engineering, and Operations personnel. Responsible for personal safety and compliance with company and customer requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.  Qualifications Basic mechanical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or automation experience preferred. Basic understanding of electrical and/or hydraulic systems preferred. Ability and willingness to learn PLC and automation/control systems. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience in valves, hydraulic systems, electrical control systems, software.  Oil & gas or drilling industry experience is a must. Awareness of safety standards within the drilling industry.  Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction. Sound judgement and decision-making ability.  ATEX / IECEx experience.  TIA portal training.
