This role will be on-site at the Corteva location.

What You’ll Do:

  • Accountable for gathering and providing accurate data, reports, etc in a timely manner while ensuring the results are available for compliance, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Ensure that proper calibration and maintenance is performed on equipment, including HPLC, GC and miscellaneous lab equipment.
  • Properly manage, store, maintain and retain lab samples of various types including completion of routine contamination checks.
  • Comply with and promote all site safety and operating procedures/processes while ensuring that the rest of the team also practices safe work techniques.
  • Troubleshoot systems/processes and take appropriate action when outcomes do not meet expectations/requirements including documenting and investigating root cause of issues in the lab, plant and customer concerns.
  • Manage raw materials and consumable items.
  • Work closely with team to ensure functionality and effectiveness of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) system.
  • Develop and maintain policies and practices to ensure safe and efficient lab operations that align with general cleanliness and other laboratory best practices.
  • Perform a variety of computer work.
  • Aseptically generate inoculum for production process.
  • Perform activities requiring aseptic technique in clean room type environment per the production schedule (on the job training provided).
  • Cryogenically store and maintain production cultures.
  • Complete routine contamination checks of fermentation and seed train process samples.
  • Perform microbiology lab operations and analytical methods including Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) sample analysis and media preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • You have a high school diploma/GED.

What Skills You Need:

  • You have a minimum of 6 years total education and/or experience in an Analytical or Microbiology type field.
  • You are willing and able to learn Manage Production Work Process Tools, Operate Plant Work Process and Analytical Work Process.
  • You have the ability to prioritize your work, stay organized and are experienced with project management.
  • You have an understanding of materials and supplies management processes.
  • You thrive working both independently and in a team environment.
  • You think in a logical manner, so you have excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are experienced in developing, implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures and test standards and are skilled in the execution of complex standardization and calibrations.
  • You value health and safety! You will always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every day.
  • You have at least an intermediate level of competence with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • You are willing and able to work a rotating schedule that includes shifts of both 8 and 12 hours which will include some overtime and occasional weekend work (will rotate and work 1 of every 3 weekends).

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • BS in Microbiology, Biology, or Chemistry.
  • Laboratory experience Medical Technologist training.
