Smith Industries is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Quality Control Inspector to ensure all materials, pressure vessels, and tanks meet company standards and applicable industry codes. This role supports production by maintaining quality compliance, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies, wear required PPE, report incidents immediately, and exercise stop-work authority when necessary.

  • Inspect materials, components, pressure vessels, and tanks to ensure compliance with ASME, API, and other applicable standards.

  • Perform independent inspections of incoming materials and finished products, verifying proper identification (heat numbers and company tracking numbers).

  • Document inspection results on travelers and QC inspection sheets.

  • Maintain quality records, reports, logs, and electronic databases within the Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Assist the QC Supervisor with QA/QC programs, training coordination, reporting, and administrative support.

  • Collaborate with Production and Safety teams to ensure compliance with quality procedures and company policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ASME, API, or related industry standards preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Computer proficiency and experience with electronic document systems.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
