Do you enjoy helping customers find the right products and creating a great shopping experience? Tyndale is seeking a friendly, dependable Retail Associate to join our retail team! You’ll help customers shop Tyndale’s flame-resistant (FR) and everyday apparel, provide knowledgeable product recommendations, process purchases, and keep the store organized, stocked, and ready for customers.

This is a great opportunity for someone with retail or customer service experience who enjoys working with people, learning about products, and being part of a customer-focused team.

SHIFT: This position works a staggered 8-hour shift Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, along with a 6-hour Saturday shift from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Weekday start and end times will vary based on store scheduling needs.

Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming, positive store experience by greeting customers, understanding their needs, answering questions, and helping them select the right FR and non-FR products.
- Build strong customer relationships and support store sales through helpful product recommendations, upselling, and alternative suggestions when appropriate.
- Accurately process customer purchases using point-of-sale and payment systems, including cash and credit card transactions.
- Keep the store clean, organized, stocked, and customer-ready by replenishing merchandise, maintaining displays, and completing routine store upkeep.
- Receive and unpack shipments, organize merchandise, and stock the sales floor and stock areas to maintain product availability.
- Follow established safety, loss prevention, cash-handling, and store operating procedures.
- Support store opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management and help resolve or appropriately escalate customer and operational concerns.
- Pitch in across store operations as needed to support the team and provide a great customer experience.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of retail or customer service experience required.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to learn Tyndale’s products, understand technical product features, and make appropriate recommendations based on customer needs.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and credit card transactions and follow cash-control and loss prevention procedures.
- Ability to use or quickly learn point-of-sale, payment, and other retail systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
- Ability to work the required schedule, including staggered weekday shifts and Saturdays.

Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled retail apparel store with frequent interaction with customers, coworkers, and management. The role requires frequent use of point-of-sale equipment, payment systems, computers, telephones, and other standard retail equipment. Work may include opening or closing the store and, at times, working as the sole employee on location in accordance with established company procedures.

Physical Demands:
Requires standing and walking for most of the shift, along with routine bending, reaching, and handling merchandise throughout the sales floor and stock areas. Must be able to lift, carry, move, and position merchandise and shipment cartons weighing up to 40 pounds.
