This position greets customers and provides information, direction, and assistance. Acts as concierge to meet specific needs of visitors. Delivers and/or coordinates with junior volunteers the delivery of flowers to patients.
Responsibilities
(35%)* Greets patients, visitors, clergy, florists, vendors, and business people by providing information, direction, and assistance.

(35%)* Answers the telephone in a pleasant tone. Provides accurate information with regard to hospital policy while maintaining confidentiality.

(30%)* Assists patient families. Provides directions to restaurants, stores, and public facilities in Midland.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical and computer skills as normally acquired through completion of high school. (Knowledge of medical office practices and procedures as normally acquired through 1-year experience working in the medical center or similar setting.)

Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done annually.
Â
Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
