 SUMMARYÂ
Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Â Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Â Responsibilities may include routine maintenance activities, notifying management of needs for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from the sidewalk.Â
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Monitor building security and safety by checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.Â
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.Â
- Gather and empty trash.Â
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.Â
- Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floor and fixtures.Â
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.Â
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.Â
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.Â
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.Â
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
