Position Summary

The Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing schedules to support efficient operations, resource utilization, and timely completion of work activities. This role coordinates with cross-functional teams to align staffing, production, maintenance, or project needs while ensuring minimal disruption and maximum productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules for daily, weekly, and long-term operational activities
  • Coordinate with supervisors, managers, and stakeholders to align schedules with business priorities
  • Monitor schedule adherence and adjust plans proactively to address changes, delays, or resource constraints
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet operational targets
  • Analyze scheduling data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Communicate scheduling changes clearly and in a timely manner to impacted employees and teams
  • Ensure compliance with labor agreements, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support contingency planning for emergencies, outages, or unexpected workload changes
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to scheduling and planning activities
  • Utilize scheduling software and systems to track and report performance metrics

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field)
  • 2–5 years of experience in scheduling, planning, operations, or a related role
  • Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, project planning, or workforce scheduling preferred
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools, ERP systems, or workforce management software
