 Smith Industries LLC is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Material Handler to support our warehouse and operations team. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and delivery of parts, tools, and supplies while maintaining accurate inventory documentation and upholding company safety and quality standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures; wear required PPE; report all incidents and accidents immediately; exercise stop-work authority when safety cannot be ensured
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to orders, deliveries, and inventory transactions
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues or discrepancies related to parts procurement, delivery, or inventory management
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and delivering inventory items; help maintain warehouse security
  • Keep the facility clean and organized at all times
  • Assist with monthly physical inventory counts
  • Organize and maintain storage areas in accordance with storage design principles; recommend improvements as needed
  • Move inventory to and from the warehouse as needed; communicate transfers with related departments
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding open items, scheduling, and priorities
  • Keep equipment operating by following preventive maintenance procedures and reporting breakdowns promptly
  • Report damaged items, shortages, and shipment discrepancies to supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong teamwork ethic and a high level of dedication
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 90% of the workday
  • Occasional bending, squatting, climbing ladders/stairways
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to assess weights and judge distance and heights
