POSITION PURPOSE:

The OTA Clinic Coordinator shall be responsible for the maintenance of the department’s campus clinics and will act in a supervisory role for students during Level I fieldwork (clinic). The Clinic Coordinator will take direction from the Program Director and/or the OTA faculty. 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Create and maintain clinic schedule, including room utilization, staff/volunteer utilization, and student scheduling.
  • Set up and maintain treatment areas.
  • Conduct clinics on scheduled days and times. Clinic formats will vary depending on the population. 
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are available for clinics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order within the clinic environment.
  • Conduct evaluation of students and/or remediation in meeting specific criteria. 
  • Perform other duties as requested by the OTA Program Director and/or faculty.

  • Knowledgeable about occupational therapy interventions across various populations.
  • Represents self to public professionally.
  • Demonstrates superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students and faculty.
  • Reports to work within required timelines with an excellent attendance record. 
  • Ability to think independently and appropriately.
  • Commitment to the community college philosophy.
  • Understands the accreditation standards for ACOTE and SACSCOC.
  • A student-centered philosophy.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

  • Initial certification as a COTA or OTR.
  • Current licensure as an OTA or OT in the State of Texas.
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in the occupational therapy field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Busy working environment with numerous interruptions.

SALARY:  $25-$35. per hour - commensurate with education and experience / up to 19 hrs per week
