Job DetailsJob Location: Midway University - Midway, KY 40347Position Type: Full TimeCampus Minister We invite applications from compassionate, spiritually grounded individuals called to serve as the primary spiritual care provider for our university community. This position is rooted in the theology and values of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), reflecting its historic commitments to the unity of the church, the autonomy of the individual in matters of faith, open communion, and grace-centered community.  The Campus Minister will provide meaningful pastoral ministry and supportive counseling services for college-age students navigating faith, identity, and life transitions. Grounded in the Disciples of Christ tradition the Minister will cultivate an inclusive and affirming campus environment that honors the dignity and spiritual journey of every student, regardless of their faith background or tradition.  This role embraces the Disciples of Christ conviction that the church is, at its heart, a community gathered around the Table — and will seek to embody that spirit of belonging, grace, and shared humanity in every dimension of campus ministry. The Minister will serve as a trusted and caring presence, supporting the holistic well-being of the student body through pastoral care, spiritual formation, and intentional relationship-building across the university community. This is a full-time, 10-month role, with an expected start date of August 1, 2026.  Key Responsibilities  Plan and coordinate ecumenical and interfaith events  Provide care and support through life transitions  Offer short-term supportive counseling; refer students to licensed professionals as needed  Facilitate small groups, discipleship programs, service-learning, and leadership development  Build relationships with local congregations and community outreach organizations  Partner with student affairs, residence life, and academic departments on whole-student wellness;  As needed, teach at least one course per semester, Specific course assignments will be determined based on departmental need and the candidate's areas of expertise.  Serve as the staff advisor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter and any future faith-based or religion-centered student organizations that may be established. Responsibilities include attending regular meetings, providing guidance to any volunteer coordinators, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.  This position will require some nights and weekends.  QualificationsRequired Qualifications  Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent graduate theological degree from an accredited institution  Demonstrated commitment to the Disciples of Christ ethos: open communion, no creed but Christ, unity amid diversity.  Minimum 2 years of experience in campus, parish, or chaplaincy ministry  Formal training in pastoral counseling, crisis intervention, or related supportive counseling practice  Strong interpersonal and active-listening skills; comfort with diverse faith backgrounds and life experiences  Demonstrated ability to maintain appropriate professional and ethical boundaries in a counseling context  Preferred Qualifications:  Coursework or licensure in counseling, social work, or psychology (LPC, LCSW, or equivalent a plus)  Prior experience in higher education or college-age ministry settings  Experience facilitating retreats, spiritual direction, or formation programs  Familiarity with trauma-informed care and mental health first aid   Ordained or ordination-eligible within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or a closely aligned tradition  Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until this position is filled.
