The Manager, Distribution Operations provides daily leadership and direction for distribution design engineering within assigned area(s). Leader is responsible for managing area daily business operations, efficient resource planning, on-boarding, and utilization, achievement of financial targets, delivering a quality work product, and achieving high customer satisfaction. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.  

  • Responsible for achieving high customer satisfaction, through positive client relationships, good communications, cost management, quality work product, and delivering within targeted dates. 

  • Responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining a resource plan in a manner that aligns with client ramp-up and ramp-down to optimize resource utilization while maintaining financial margins. 

  • Responsible for ensuring employee time entry and expense reporting is timely and accurate. 

  • Responsible for hiring qualified and quality talent that align with the company’s culture and business objectives.  

  • Responsible for employee performance, technical training, career development, coaching, mentoring, and performance management. 

  • Foster a culture of open communications, high performance, continuous improvement, innovation, teamwork, collaboration, career development, and diversity and inclusion. 

  • Responsible for achieving profit & loss within assigned area. 

  • Partner with Finance team to update monthly, quarterly, and annual financial projections. 

  • Responsible for team’s safety performance, understanding and adherence to safety rules & policies, incident reporting, and associated corrective actions. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. 

 

Education, Skills, and Abilities Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with eight years of related experience; or Associates degree in a technical field with ten years of related experience. High School diploma / GED required. 

  • Proficient in advanced principles and practices of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, general science and scales of weight and measurements is required. 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. 

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or the business community. 

  • Utilized common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.  

  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.  

  • Self-motivated, savvy, reliable, trustworthy, as well as technically competent. 

  • Demonstrated time management skills. 

  • Effective oral and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to constructively manage multiple tasks. 

  • Possess valid driver’s license and vehicle suitable for business use (mileage reimbursement may apply). 

  • Ability to travel up to 25%. Overnight stay will be required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions 

Physical Functions: This role will may require working in all-weather types as well as in inclement conditions. Incumbent may regularly, walk up to 2 miles per day in various terrain. This role will also occasionally sit, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms, and will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.  

Working Environment: This role will have both an indoor normal climate-controlled office setting as well as outside working conditions which may include extreme heat, extreme cold, noise, and sun exposure.  

 

Proper Personal Equipment: Hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves, ID card, cellular phone, EH rated footwear with toe box OSHA Ratings, PVD's, DRG Safety Traffic Vest.
