Position Summary 
This position is responsible for coordinating driver onboarding, training, regulatory compliance, safety programs, and transportation systems administration. This position ensures compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and company requirements while supporting driver development, maintaining qualification records, administering compliance programs, and partnering with transportation leadership to promote safe and efficient operations. This position will be expected to collaborate throughout the organization to support workforce development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver onboarding, training, and development programs for drivers, transportation personnel, and approved third-party carriers.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver transportation training materials, including SOPs, work instructions, job aids, safety programs, and regulatory compliance training.
  • Manage, maintain and monitor driver qualification (DQ) files, training records, certifications, and compliance documentation in accordance with company, DOT, and FMCSA requirements.
  • Conduct audits, observations, and competency assessments to verify employee qualifications, training effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor telematics, safety metrics, and compliance data to identify coaching opportunities, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Investigate transportation-related incidents and compliance concerns, coordinating corrective actions, retraining efforts, and preventive measures.
  • Provide administration, training, and support for transportation systems and technology, including Mobile Manifest, telematics platforms, and D365 transportation processes.
  • Maintain training records, certification tracking, and compliance documentation.
  • Partner with cross departmental teams to identify training needs and support employee development.
  • Analyze training effectiveness and compliance data to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for transportation safety and regulatory compliance, partnering with transportation leadership and cross-functional teams to improve safety, operational performance, and compliance outcomes.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility but will be expected to assist in training all new employees within the department.

Work Environment
This position is mainly in an office/intake environment. Occasionally will need to fill in and work would be performed in outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will need to sit, stand, or walk. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are generally 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

Travel
Minimal travel is required.

Required Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or GED is required for this position. Minimum of three years of experience in transportation, distribution, or logistics operations, including experience with DOT/FMCSA. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. 

Preferred Education, Experience and Certifications

Desire five or more years of hauling experience. More specifically, experience hauling milk or liquid is preferred. CDL-A with Tanker Endorsement and valid health certificate. Experience administering training programs, conducting audits or observations, developing training materials, and supporting safety and compliance initiatives is preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
