About the Role
The Brewing team reflects Athletic Brewing’s commitment to quality through meticulous brewing processes, strict sanitation standards, and continuous product verification to ensure every beer meets the highest standards. The position also allows for significant innovation, as team members contribute to a pioneering and rapidly growing segment of the craft beverage industry focused on award-winning non-alcoholic beer. The Brewing team is at the heart of Athletic Brewing's commitment to quality. This is a hands-on, process-driven role where you will execute world class brewing procedures, uphold the highest sanitation standards, and perform continuous product verification to ensure every beer we produce meets the highest bar — always.Â
Brewing team members are major contributors to an innovative and rapidly growing segment of the craft beverage industry focused on award-winning non-alcoholic beer. This role is deeply connected to the broader Athletic community — from the teammates you collaborate with on the floor to the fans who trust what's in every can.Â
Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Brewer role will learn the brewing process by starting in the cellar and learning the basic sanitary practices involved in brewing. Sanitation activities include but are not limited to:
Cleaning floors, drains, tank faces, sanitizing brewing parts.
Participate in all aspects of wort production to assist the brewing team including but not limited to:
Receiving/storing ingredients, milling, weighing, mashing, boiling, transfer, inoculation, aeration, monitoring and recording in written and digital format
Assist the brewing team with all cellar activity including but not limited to:
Monitoring and recording, CIP’s and SIP’s, yeast handling, filtration, cleaning, transfers.
Professional and meticulous use of all chemicals in brewery
Assists in quality assurance by doing DO measurements, CIP verification, PH and Gravity readings.
Attend GEMBA/GMP/Safety walks and implement corrective actions from findings.

Experience:
High School Diploma or GEDÂ
Brewing degree preferred, not required
Experience in cellaring and brewing production is valued.
Previous food production experience is valued.
Experience with tools valued.
Experience with sanitation and cleaning systems is valued.

Work in a production environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to wet or slippery surfaces.Â
May be required to climb ladders, work at heights, and navigate tight or confined spaces.Â
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as determined by the hazard assessment, including eye and face protection, protective footwear, hearing protection, and hand protection, for the duration of the shift, as applicable.
Ability to recognize and respond to instructions and alert signals in the work environment.
