Job Summary:
Leads Global Logistics and Transportation function (import/export via ocean, air, truck, and parcel) for the INDOPACOM Regions for the company. Leads and manages the oversight of the Regional Logistics Specialists for the INDOPACOM regions. This position reports to the Site Manager at Hawaii (W-TRS).

Manages third party logistics and carrier relationships to ensure service levels and costs are optimized to meet customer transportation and delivery requirements. Develops, tracks and reports to senior management on key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Will support the logistic supply chain function of V2X TDPs supported in Hawaii primarily as well as regional logistics operations support. This position requires a strong background in logistics with proven accomplishments with cross-functional teamwork, experience working with remote teams and solid negotiation skills.

Responsibilities
Job Description
- Leads and manages the Logistics and Transportation business functions for the company and supervises the appropriate staff to analyze performance, resolve freight and delivery issues and monitors carrier delivery performance.
- Manages the implementation and use of the Transportation Management information system.
- Provides leadership, guidance and resolution support to Regional Transportation personnel.
- Establishes the firm’s Logistics and Transportation strategy and manages its implementation to provide transportation and freight to our customers at the least total landed cost.
- Responsible for ensuring the logistics and transportation services meet USG compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and manages key performance indicators to form the basis for third party provider performance assessments, corrective actions, and assessment of fulfilled contractual obligations.
- Develops, negotiates, and manages all third-party contracts and rate agreements for freight.
- Ensures logistics needs of business units are fully met.
- Understands business growth strategies and drives continuous improvement projects to minimize transportation expenses.
- Conducts joint quarterly business review meetings with senior management team members to report on state of the relationship, key performance indicators and critical event plans.
- Conducts weekly/monthly meetings with subcontractors to review status of logistics statuses for materials and services.
- Involved in RFP for Freight payment partner, making the award, and then manage freight payment integration into new TMS. Then lead audits, and daily oversight to ensure freight payment validations and payment processes are being followed, Third Party Logistics (3PL) transaction fees are accurate, and corrective actions are timely and effective.
- Develops and executes plans to optimize freight to ensure service levels and costs to meet customer requirements.
- Working knowledge of Freight Spend Management solutions.
- Leads our team in collaborating with the V2X Global Trade Compliance Team to ensure compliance with all import/export and trade regulations.
- Working knowledge of Logistics Management software.
- Directs the daily work of their direct reports as well as serves as their lead in developing the careers of their employees.
- Ability to forecast and develop budgets.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all facets of transportation and logistics international business practices, and U.S./foreign transportation rules/regulations.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MAXIMO and similar enterprise-wide systems.
- High degree of analytical ability and capable of creating and executing major strategic initiatives.
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location.
- Directly manage the work of others.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- BS/BAÂ from a reputable University in Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering or BS in a science are required.
- AA plus 2 years ExperienceÂ
- 3 yrs experience in lieu of degree.

Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, global trade compliance or warehouse management.
- An MBA or an MS is a plus
- Prior experience in leading and managing complex logistics and transportation organizations with a high traffic volume, serving multiple regions.
- Prior management and supervisory experience.
