Sonic Summary

info
  • We are looking for an experienced HR Coordinator to join our non-profit residential treatment team, requiring 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a structured HR department.
  • This part-time position is 32 hours per week, spread over four days, and involves various HR responsibilities including administration, recruitment, payroll, compliance, and organizational support.
  • Candidates should have hands-on experience with HRIS systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now, and should be comfortable managing core HR tasks independently.
  • The role offers a salary in the range of $50,000 to $60,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, and generous paid time off.
  • Applicants must hold or be actively pursuing a SHRM-CP or aPHR certification, with completion required within 12 months of hire.

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team as an HR Coordinator in a mission-driven, non-profit residential treatment environment.

This is a 32-hour, 4-day-per-week position.

In this position, you will support the hands-on administrative work of HR across several core areas:

  • Human Resources Administration - processing paperwork, maintaining accurate records, and supporting employees with day-to-day questions and needs;
  • Recruitment & Retention – coordinating job postings and supporting hiring manager’s tasks based on their own availability and selection process, and supporting new hires through onboarding.
  • Payroll & Benefits – assisting with payroll processing and day-to-day benefits administration tasks;
  • Compliance & Accreditation - helping maintain accurate documentation in support of state and federal regulatory requirements and accreditation standards; and
  • Organizational Support – serving as a reliable, approachable point of contact for all departments. Working closely with the current HR Manager to learn our operations, systems, and compliance landscape, with the opportunity to take on greater scope and responsibility as familiarity with the department grows.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 1-3 years of HR Coordinator experience, ideally within a structured HR department
  • Hands-on experience working within an HRIS system: ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred, with working knowledge of the Recruitment, Background Screening, and New Hire Onboarding modules.
  • This role is best suited for someone who’s already comfortable in an HR role, not someone just starting out, as it is not designed as an entry point into the field. Candidates should already have hands-on experience handling core HR administrative tasks independently, with a foundational understanding of workplace compliance basics, and a willingness to build on that knowledge over time
  • Comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities and adapting to the pace of a smaller organization, where priorities can shift throughout the day
  • Background in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or human services strongly preferred
  • Strong administrative discipline: meticulous documentation habits, follow-through, and attention to detail in compliance-sensitive work
  • A calm, approachable presence with solid conflict-management skills – employees should feel comfortable coming to you
  • Working knowledge of, or strong willingness to learn, core employment law fundamentals as they apply to day-to-day HR administration

Required Credentials: Candidates must hold a SHRM-CP or aPHR certification, or be actively working toward one, with completion required within 12 months of hire as a condition of continued employment.
