Job Description:

Job Title: Medical Records Director

Workplace: Central State Hospital, Milledgeville

Job Summary:

Manages and provides input to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the delivery of health services. Provides input to develop and implement related policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates healthcare programs. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.

Duties:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Directs subordinate supervisors and staff. Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance and when necessary, discipline HIM staff.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide direction and management to the Health Information Management (HIM) Department whose primary charge is to maintain control of complete and accurate medical records throughout the hospital.This position is responsible for compliance with Joint Commission Record of Care standards.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provides input to develop and implement related policies and procedures.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Sets priorities and implements goals and objectives to meet or resolve identified issues. Participates in the development and administration of the HIM budget.

Preferred Qualifications:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Registered Health Information Administrator or Technician (RHIA or RHIT)

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Three (3) years of experience managing a HIM Department.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience to include supervision of staff.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with hospital information system and electronic medical records system.
