Food Service Worker (PT)

Georgia Military College is now accepting applications for a Part-time Food Service worker at our Main Campus. Interested candidates must be able to work split shifts and flexible hours (up to 29 per week.) All GMC part-time Food Service workers must be able to work well with others as well as be courteous to patrons in the cafeteria and dining hall. Part-time Food Service workers are often cross-trained between multiple job functions within the Cafeteria. Interested candidates should expect to be trained as work as any or all of the following:

• Dishwasher

Duties include, but not limited to: Ensuring that all dishes are clean and sanitized to both GMC and Health Code standards.

• Cashier

Duties include, but not limited to: Ringing up all sales to students, staff, faculty and guests, taking up cash for sales and /or swipe debit cards and charges to departmental account, cleaning both cashiers stations, empty all trash containers in dining hall area, assist serving when requested and assisting with stocking and cleanliness when needed.

• Line Assistant

Duties include, but not limited to: Serving dinners from the food service line, re/stock salad & deli bars and food service line, salad preparation, assistance in the canteen, and ensuring kitchen facilities stay clean and up to GMC and Health Code standards.

• Catering Assistant

Duties include, but not limited to: assisting Caterers in the preparation of food, set-up, and cleanup at catering events.

*Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Ability to work well with others
• Ability to withstand working in extreme heat
• Ability to lift at lift 30 pounds

Preferred qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED equivalent strongly preferred
• Previous experience working in any/all of the fields
• Reliable Transportation
