Position Highlights

This position works closely with nursing staff and the business office of the clinic to ensure a positive patient experience.

M-F 8-5, one day would be 8-Noon. 36 hours per week.

A Brief Overview

Accountable for coordinating the flow of patients through managing calls, schedules, supplies and equipment while assisting provider and nurses with various non-clinical responsibilities.

What you will do

  • Coordinates appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters, assisting providers and nurses with cancellations, fill-ins, double booking approvals, follow-up appointments, reminder calls, etc.
  • Responsible to prepare and maintain patient records in an orderly fashion and assure they are accessible to the provider.
  • Answers and routes calls promptly, alerting appropriate personnel to urgent messages/issues that require immediate attention.
  • Assist the provider and nurse with other support duties as time allows, including but not limited to: making copies, opening mail, completion of disabilities forms, complete DME forms, make referrals, running reports, and fax items as requested.
  • Provides information to patients/visitors within scope of knowledge or refers to appropriate individuals.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent and 3-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • 1-3 years Healthcare office/administrative work
