We are looking for a full-time LPN or Medical Assistant to join our Surgery Office team. Working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. 

Position Summary:

The LPN/Medical Assistant will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, timely, effective, quality, age appropriate, culture appropriate, cost conscious, evidenced based care while utilizing the nursing process and holistic patient care. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting and obtaining patient vitals, charting, assessments, ordering tests, administering medications, drawing blood, EKG's, giving vaccinations, educating patients and calling in prescriptions. The LPN/Medical Assistant will utilize the nursing process to provide nursing care on an individualized basis according to organizational policies and procedures. As nurses, we will provide clinical leadership for patient care. 

Responsibilities:

  • Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide direct patient care as described in the tasks and duties of this position.
  • Performs nursing duties within the appropriate scope of practice under the direction of the physician/provider/RN.
  • Provides appropriate patient and family education.
  • Performs clerical/administrative tasks and duties as needed.
  • Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians/providers and ancillary departments.
  • Maintains high standards for professional nursing practice.
  • Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to department policy and procedure.

  • Within the level of the nurse's qualifications, you may be assigned to work in other areas based on patient census and staffing needs.

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of an Accredited Practical Nursing Program or Medical Assistant Program - Required
  • Valid State of Ohio LPN Licensure or MA Certificate  - Required
  • 1-3 Years of Experience in a Healthcare/Medical setting - Preferred
  • BLS Certification- Required. (May be obtained during orientation period)
