Mill Operator

PURPOSE

Set up and operate milling machines to perform mixing and blending of rubber compounds with additives, working to dose tolerances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Report and maintain records for raw material usage, mixing log, daily production, prep cutting control, safety check log, etc.

Set up 48" mill and check mill recipe card for appropriate raw materials and weighing instructions for mixing and blending per specifications; roll off mill.

Sets up 24" mill by adjusting roll nip, mill and conveyor speed; cut rubber preps to predetermined size and target weight; monitor and adjust cutter as needed.

Place and align preps on prep book sheets; load prep book onto cart and move to appropriate storage area or work area.

Check mill for cleanliness; clean as required to prevent contamination of stocks.

Use pallet-jack and fork truck to minimize lifting or carrying of raw materials or finished product.

See that equipment is given proper care and arrange required repair and maintenance.

Observe all safety and health rules prescribed by the company; wear safety equipment as required; insure lunch room, locker, and work areas are maintained In a neat and orderly condition.
