Job Description

  • GREAT OPPORTUNITY as Tooling Lead at MI Windows & Doors’ Millersburg Plant!

  • Day SHIFT – 7am - 3am Monday-Friday

  • Anticipated Hourly Rate - $31/hr - $37/hr depending on experience level!!

The Manufacturing Tooling Lead ensures tooling supports high‑quality production, meets safety and compliance standards, and drives continuous improvement. The Tooling Lead partners closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and enhance tooling performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads shop team members, mentors and motivates team members ensuring productivity. 

  • Facilitates team operations through the sharing of information and knowledge, identification of teamwork issues, encouraging suggestions, development of problem-solving recommendations, and recommendations of standardizing team.

  • Monitors team members to identify and provide training as needed or required.

  • Assists with preparing work flow and team member schedules.

  • Cooperates with all departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.

  • Informs supervisor of operating and/or employee issues.

  • Collects and submits reports specific to team data as requested.

  • Keeps records of departmental activities.

  • Ensures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.

  • Functions as a team member and carries out duties and responsibilities assigned to the team.

  • Serves as a resource and content expert to team members; providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activities.

  • Relays or helps team members with new or revised policies, procedures and /or processes to team members to ensure they have the most up--date and current information.

  • Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

  • Performs other duties as required or directed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years tooling experience

  • Tool and die certification

  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies in accordance with Company guidelines

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to effectively enforce applicable regulations and policies

  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and customers

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Able to train and motivate department personnel

  • Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the department

  • Ability to travel if needed
