Reconstruction Estimator – Core & Complex Losses

Aaction Home Repairs & Restoration is seeking a Reconstruction Estimator to inspect, document, sell, and estimate residential reconstruction losses. This is a field-based sales and estimating role focused on interior and exterior property damage, including water, fire, storm, roofing, siding, and related reconstruction claims.

This role will primarily support core reconstruction claims while also requiring the technical ability and field judgment to assist with larger or more complex losses when needed.

Core Focus: Sales & Estimation

The Reconstruction Estimator is responsible for turning assigned losses into properly documented, accurately estimated, and sold reconstruction opportunities. This role requires strong customer communication, construction knowledge, estimating accuracy, and the ability to move quickly while meeting carrier and TPA timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect assigned reconstruction losses involving interior and exterior damage.
  • Perform roof inspections when safe and appropriate, including ladder access and coordination of ladder assist when required.
  • Document all loss-related damages with clear photos, notes, measurements, sketches, and file updates.
  • Complete 3D scans of affected areas using scanning software/equipment such as iGUIDE or similar platforms.
  • Collect required ITEL samples for roofing, siding, flooring, and other applicable materials.
  • Prepare accurate reconstruction estimates based on visible/documented scope, carrier guidelines, and real-world production needs.
  • Communicate the claims and repair process clearly to insureds, adjusters, carriers, and internal team members.
  • Follow up on submitted estimates, revisions, and approvals to keep files moving.
  • Support supplement estimating when additional documented scope is provided.
  • Maintain strong file discipline by documenting calls, photos, sketches, scans, ITELs, approvals, and claim-related communication in Dash.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure approved scopes are clear, complete, and production-ready.
  • Build trust with insureds and help move approved claims into signed repair contracts.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in restoration, reconstruction, construction estimating, roofing, or insurance claims preferred.
  • Ability to identify and estimate interior and exterior building damages.
  • Comfortable with customer-facing sales conversations and claim-related communication.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access roofs safely.
  • Familiarity with Xactimate, Symbility, Dash, iGUIDE, Hover, EagleView, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong photo documentation, note-taking, and file organization skills.
  • Ability to manage fast-moving claim timelines while maintaining estimating accuracy.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform field inspections, climb ladders, access roofs, and enter attics/crawlspaces when needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to carry inspection equipment, ladder, PPE, 3D scanning equipment, and sample kits.

Ideal Candidate

The right person for this role is a strong communicator, detail-oriented estimator, and field-capable salesperson who can inspect the loss, build trust with the insured, write a clean estimate, and help convert the claim into a sold reconstruction job. They should be comfortable handling standard reconstruction claims while having the judgment, organization, and technical ability to assist with larger or more complex losses when needed.
