MAJOR FUNCTION:Â
Assess, develop, update, and deliver curriculum for adult learners in preparatory courses for EMS certification in a manner leading to cognitive development, clinical psychomotor skill competence, enhanced affective interaction, and marketable job skill proficiency appropriate for the provider level of each assigned course.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma.Â
- Documented experience teaching EMS curricula to adult learners.                  Â
- Two years clinical or field experience as an EMS field provider preferred.
Â
Certification/Licensure:Â
- Current certification as a NJ EMT or higher preferred.
- Current AHA CPR Instructor Certification or current AHA ACLS Instructor Certification or current AHA PALS Instructor Certification or current NJ EMT Instructor certification.Â

Position ResponsibilitiesÂ
• Supervise students to ensure safety and constant compliance with hospital, regulatory agency, and facility requirements while maximizing learning opportunities.Â

• Work with other faculty and staff members to facilitate the operation of the skill labs in a manner that maximizes learning opportunities.
 • Maintain continuous contact with businesses and industries throughout the district which employ or could employ graduating students. Provide colleagues with information learned regarding new techniques or equipment that could be implemented in the EMS program as well as employment opportunities for graduating students.Â
• Evaluate student cognitive, psychomotor, and affective development on a strategically scheduled, periodic basis throughout each course; provide evaluation results to students and program director in a manner that serves as a guide to improved performance. Conduct final assessment of student performance in the above domains and submit final grade reports for each assigned course.Â
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and closely monitor use of inventory items to prevent loss, damage, or theft.Â
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date durable equipment in the program for relevant training of students.
