Job Description

  

Join Teledyne HiRel , a leader in high-reliability electronics for defense applications. As our Cost Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance while supporting operational efficiency. Your expertise will help maintain precise inventory costing, manage fixed assets, and provide insights that drive informed business decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform month-end closing processes and prepare journal entries for inventory, cost of goods sold, and fixed assets.
  • Reconcile accounts for inventory, cost of sales, and general ledger.
  • Analyze variances such as purchase price and work order discrepancies.
  • Manage inventory costing activities within the ERP system.
  • Track capital expenses and handle fixed asset accounting and prepaid expense amortization.
  • Prepare business property tax filings and U.S. Census survey reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Support SOX testing, annual audits, and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

What You Need

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills – required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency – required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and fixed asset software – preferred.
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in public or private industry – required.
  • Experience in medium to large company environments – preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance – required.
