Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

RAPID HPC Team is charted to provide pioneering High Performance Computing solutions in enabling-Image processing algorithms for Reticle/Photomask inspections in real time. As a HPC product design engineer, you would Design and Engineer an embedded HPC Cluster which is a critical sub-system in KLA Photo Mask inspection tool. Your primary responsibilities include leading and driving efforts to prototype groundbreaking computational technologies, optimize cost, computation time and collaborate with peers to transition prototypes to production. Additional job responsibilities include develop computational models, performance characterization,  qualification of the technology stack, diagnostics development, enhance monitoring and observability, coordinating NPI, developing documentation, and support critical issues for new and legacy products.

Required Technical Qualifications:

  • Skilled in Shell scripting and Python, with experience designing and implementing reusable modules.

  • Data science background with the ability to develop high‑performance computational models

  • In-depth knowledge of one or more flavors of Linux: SUSE, Red hat, CentOS, Alma, Ubuntu

  • Experience with customizing BIOS, Disk partitioning, RAID utilities, Net boot/PXE, System-D, and Linux HA.

  • Experience with few listed Configuration Mgmt utilities. (Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet etc.)

  • Experience with Server Hardware, GPUs, Familiarity with CUDA, RAID/HBA Controllers, and PFS based Storage Technologies like Lustre or BeeGFS

  • Interconnected Network configuration experience. Ex setup, customization, monitoring of InfiniBand, Ethernet, RDMA, ROCE v2.

  • Have superior understanding of x86 Hardware Platform stack, and proven track record for modelling workloads and benchmark performance.

Prefer Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PKI & SSL/TLS certificate management

  • Knowledge of KLA processes & procedures added plus

  • Track record in developing visualizations and developing observability stack

  • Understanding of Cable Types, signal integrity specs, qualification and characterization.

  • Possess a strong DevOps focus: Knowledge of setting up a continuous development pipeline (Jenkins), Repository software (Git-based), Docker Containers.

Base Pay Range: $136,300.00 - $231,700.00 Annually
